DC Microgrid

Next generation of solar home and business systems.

Shared Energy

With the collective effort around 8 million solar systems are being deployed annually. The increasing density of such solar solutions bears great potential. Individual systems can be interconnected with our DC Micro Grid module so that energy intense appliances such as milling machines can be powered and the security of supply for each connected household is increased.

System features

Peer-to-peer energy trading

Excess electricity from solar home systems can be easily sold to neighbours. Whenever additional battery capacity is needed or high power devices shall be operated, electricity can be drawn from up to three neighbors.

SHS independent

Even customers who can’t afford their own solar home system can draw electricity from the grid with our system. Through this they benefit from all advantages without having the initial investment costs for a solar home system (SHS).

Save and robust

Our 60V DC grid infrastructure doesn’t need complex and expensive technology such as inverters and transformators. Critical parts are minimized and dangerous high voltages are avoided.

Extendable

The grid can be built completely from the bottom up starting with only two systems. Extensive civil engineering planning becomes obsolete as the grid can be extended step by step.

Shared ownership

The grid is completely owned by it’s customers. Neither a contract has to be concluded with a utility company, nor the entire community has to commit. The existing Pay-As-You-Go infrastructure is used for the billing of energy transactions.

Cost effective

Even if the public grid is not far away, a connection is often unaffordable. With our systems the connection costs drop substantially and the benefit is even higher.

Robust swarm technology

Our grid approach is completely decentralized. In case systems are added or fail due to technical problems, this will not affect the network stability. Each module can be connected to three adjacent systems and communicates with a LoRa network architecture. A central GPRS gateway enables monitoring of the network.

Integrated solution

Our systems are Pay-As-You-Go enabled. It gives distributors the flexibility to offer the Solego systems on a consumer loan. Users can easily pay their instalments via mobile money. Therefore, all our systems can be seamlessly integrated into all the common last-mile management platforms. Tokens can be sent to the customers’ mobile phones or directly to the systems with GPRS. Further functions are currently explored.
